The Proposal
As a cherished tradition, Mark and I embarked on a romantic stroll through the picturesque town of Garstang. The moment was perfect for a proposal – we found ourselves in front of the historic castle, where Mark popped the question and sealed our love with a heartfelt ‘yes’. Following this emotional high point, we strolled along the charming high street, hand in hand, to explore the local jewellery shops and find the ideal ring to symbolize our new chapter together.
The Vision
A vibrant blend of hues is perfectly balanced by the warmth of traditional elements, fostering a carefree ambiance that’s ideal for sharing laughter and making memories with loved ones.

The Ceremony & Music
For a wedding, selecting the perfect songs to set the tone for the ceremony can be a crucial decision. In this sense, the entrance song of the bride is particularly significant as it marks the start of her special day. According to some couples, ‘Love You Till the End’ by The Pogues would make a beautiful choice for this moment. Meanwhile, when it comes time to bid farewell at the end of the night, ‘You’ve Got the Love’ by Florence and the Machine could be an excellent option to get guests on their feet and celebrating the happy couple’s union.
Your Outfits
I embarked on a quest for my dream wedding dress at Love Story Bridal. Initially, I tried on several gowns but none resonated with me. Leaving the first appointment feeling underwhelmed, I chose to return and give them another shot. The staff’s warmth and genuine interest in understanding my vision – from style to fit – created a sense of calm, making me feel more at ease about the process. Meanwhile, my partner Mark had already discovered Slaters Menswear and had a positive experience.
The Styling & Decor
The perfect wedding celebration often relies on the harmonious combination of various elements. For instance, Cake – The Crafty Cheeseman provides delectable treats that will satisfy your guests’ sweet tooth. Meanwhile, The Flower Shop by Morgan offers exquisite bouquets and buttonholes to adorn the venue. Furthermore, Flowers & The Moon / Bashall Barn brings together the expertise in venue decoration to create a breathtakingly beautiful atmosphere.

The Honeymoon
Despite my longing to return to New Zealand, fate had other plans. A sudden and unexpected turn of events in the form of a COVID-19 pandemic threw a spanner in the works, and before I knew it, a torrential downpour was the final nail in the coffin. The unpredictable weather conditions meant that my dream of returning home was put on hold.
Memorable Moments
As the doors opened and we locked eyes, it was as if time stood still. The warm glow of the church’s interior seemed to amplify the electric atmosphere that crackled between us. Every detail – from the soft murmurs of the congregation to the gentle rustle of hymnals – faded into the background as our gazes met. It was a moment that would be etched in memory for years to come, and one that set the tone for an unforgettable experience.
