Nataly and Kevin’s Villa La Joya wedding in Mexico is a true delight. The couple’s love story shines bright amidst a backdrop of stunning pampas grass florals, neon signs, and earthy tones that evoke the romance of their special day. We’re thrilled to share Andre Gouin’s fantastic photos capturing every joyful moment, from the stylish attire and striking flowers to the enchanting candlelit tables set beneath festoon lights. With smiles all around and a night capped off with a spectacular fireworks display, it’s no wonder this celebration is one for the books.
Villa La Joya Wedding
The Proposal
In 2012, Kevin and Nataly’s love story took its first step. Introduced by Kevin’s brother Danny and Nataly’s best friend Esmeralda on May 5th, the pair initially knew of each other but it wasn’t until their first official date that they became inseparable. Five years flew by, and Nataly and Kevin embarked on a European adventure for the holidays, both experiencing Europe for the first time. It was during this trip that Kevin orchestrated an unforgettable Christmas surprise for Nataly in Utrecht, Netherlands’ picturesque canals. On December 25th, 2017, he presented her with a breathtaking engagement ring, sealing their love forever. This romantic getaway will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
The Ceremony & Music
In a serene setting, the ceremony unfolded in a charming Catholic church within Mayakoba’s picturesque El Pueblito. The intimate atmosphere was set to an elegant tune, courtesy of a cello and piano player who accompanied the bride’s entrance with harmonious notes. As she walked down the aisle, the rustic charm of the church provided a unique backdrop, complemented by understated yet thoughtful floral arrangements featuring pampas grass and white roses.

The Honeymoon
Instead of taking a traditional honeymoon trip after the wedding, my partner and I decided to embark on a series of mini-trips every other month, exploring new destinations together. Given that we’re based in the US, we took the opportunity to visit some states we had never been to before, as well as traveling further afield to El Salvador for a two-week adventure. It was during our return from El Salvador that we discovered we were expecting our first child. A few months later, we celebrated not one but two special occasions when we traveled to Tulum in May 2023 and officially declared it our ‘baby moon’ and honeymoon combined, marking the beginning of this new chapter in our lives.
The Styling & Decor
We aimed for a rustic yet modern aesthetic, striking a balance between earthy tones and subtle hints of vintage charm. To achieve this look, we incorporated a palette that blended rich browns and blacks, creating a unique fusion of natural and modern elements. The floral arrangements were a thoughtful blend of dried elements, fresh roses, and exotic blooms, adding a touch of whimsy to the overall design. A bold statement piece was the neon sign above the sweetheart table, featuring our personal message ‘Simpre fueste tu’ and our special nickname for each other, ‘The Boosters’, which now proudly hangs in our kitchen as a daily reminder of that unforgettable night. Our wedding cake was a masterclass in understated elegance, with a delicate floral design adding just the right amount of visual interest to an otherwise sleek and sophisticated presentation.
Memorable Moments
As we reflected on the highlights of our wedding day, one moment stood out as particularly unforgettable: sitting together at our sweetheart table, gazing out at the sea of familiar faces and taking a collective breath to soak it all in. Seeing our loved ones gathered in one place, united in their celebration of our love, was an indescribable joy.
The memory of exchanging our vows is also etched vividly in my mind, even now. Every time I watch the video or listen to those words, I’m overcome with emotion – it’s a truly special moment that I’ll treasure forever.
Our first dance and the grand entrance into our reception were two other unforgettable moments that will remain etched in my memory for years to come. And as we look back on that magical day, February 12th, 2022, remains a benchmark against which all future celebrations will be measured.
